Big Bale Adventure - Coming to the Walled Garden

A new pop-up event is landing at the Walled Garden, West Wycombe, on the Meadow.

We're turning the Meadow into a straw bale adventure playground, with hundreds of bales arranged for climbing, jumping and exploring. The course features a tunnel to crawl through and three bale pyramids to scale, plus maze elements to work through along the way.

Sessions run from 10am to 3pm, with tickets booked for a 30 minute time slot.

Our coffee truck, Albert, will be stationed near the entrance to the Meadow, serving coffee, soft drinks and ice cream.

Big Bale Adventure is an outdoor, parent-managed maze — parents and guardians supervise their own children at all times.

  • A pop-up straw bale adventure playground with maze elements, a tunnel and three bale pyramids, set up on the Meadow at the Walled Garden, West Wycombe.

  • At the Walled Garden, West Wycombe, on the Meadow. Chorley Rd, West Wycombe, High Wycombe HP14 3AP. Access via car park.

  • Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Sessions run 10am–3pm, with entry by 30 minute time slot. Last entry 2:30pm.

  • Each ticket gives you a 30 minute slot to enjoy the bale course.

  • Suitable for children up to 12+.All children must be supervised by an adult at all times.

  • Don’t panic! We will still get you in to enjoy your session as long as you show up on the same day before 3pm.

  • Tickets are non refundable.

  • Yes, parking is available on site.

  • Trainers rather than wellies or sandals, long trousers if possible (straw can scratch), and weather-appropriate layers.

  • Albert, our coffee truck, is located near the Meadow entrance, serving coffee, soft drinks and ice cream. You can also visit our cafe before or after your session.

  • Dogs are not permitted in the maze but you are welcome to bring your dogs in the field. They must remain on leads at all times.

  • There are toilets located within the Walled Garden

  • No, please feel free to bring as much water as you need. Water will be available to purchase.
